About Me

COINNEACH SHANKS PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Dublin, Ireland
I am a psychotherapist and I work in Ballsbridge and Monkstown, Dublin. I work with people with many kinds of issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement and addictions. My clients are diverse. I work with people from different origins and countires. As well as those from Ireland and the UK, I see individuals from China, France, Germany and Italy. It is most important to recognise the importance of cultural background in psychotherapeutic work. I take a primarily Jungian orientation to my work. This involves a particular emphasis on dream work and a creative approach using a variety of media including images. If you'd like a consultation feel free to give me a call on mobile 086 8395914.

About the Psychotherapy in Dublin Blog

Linking images with symbolism, psychotherapy and, of course, photography has proved challenging and exciting. When the blog began I conceived of it as a mixture of reviews and commentary but perhaps for me there was a inevitability about photography.

My camera is in constant use and the days it never comes out of the bag would be few indeed. Zen Buddhists might say every day is a good day. This is true of photography since all light is authentic. With digital photography, images can now be published with such immediacy. So useful images - anything that takes my attention and might prove interesting - appear all the time if I am prepared to look.

Presently I haven't allowed for comments but please write to me at psychotherapydublin@gmail.com if you want to express an opinion. Guest photos are also encouraged. If you want to know more about my work as a psychotherapist you are very welcome to visit me at http://coinneachshanks.com/ I can also be found on Twitter

I work from both Ballsbridge and Monkstown and have a predominantly Jungian orientation. That doesn't mean I don't use other approaches! But that continues to be the cornerstone. The blog continues with a mix of memories, dreams and reflections. I may run out of symbols, myths and even quotations, but these are always such that there is always much to talk about. I just have to work a litttle harder!

The Amazing Adventures of the Wabbit and Lovely Lapinette
Follow the Wabbit is the creation of Coinneach Shanks and his collaborator, illustrator Clari Csuk. It's always worth catching up on what that Wabbit is doing. If you want to relax and enjoy being told a story, this is the place to be. Children and adults alike love the adventures and Coinneach is pleased to be told that "Everyone in the house reads the Wabbit." Do let Coinneach know what you think. Coinneach Shanks is on Twitter as @coinneachshanks Coinneach is a full member of the Writer's Guild (No. 007 392) He likes that number because it so much fits the character of the Wabbit.
